The Most Common 6 Wedding Expenses Brides Forget
You may be surprised at how many things you forget to add to your wedding budget spreadsheet - or worse, didn't think about.
Here's 6 wedding costs you may need to add:
Beauty - allow for skin treatments, facials, waxing, electrolysis, teeth whitening, eyelash extensions, massage, tinting, hairdos, manicures, pedicures, spray tans and new makeup.
Wedding ceremony and venue stationery - save-the-date cards, RSVP cards and invitations are only the start - you may also need to budget for menus, place cards, table cards, order of service cards, thank you cards, decals, seating plans, outdoor signage and postage.
Alterations - your dress may need to be taken in, up, down or out - or even completely remodelled if it's vintage. My alterations cost me around $250 which shocked me.
Hotel accommodation - you need to book the hotel for the night before the wedding for as typical check-in times of 2pm are far too late for an evening wedding - and you may have to pay for up to two rooms or more if you don't want your partner and his/her bridal party to see you the night before the wedding.
Wedding outfits - if you're having a destination wedding, you'll also probably want some new outfits, shoes, jewellery and underwear to wear for events planned around your wedding, and especially if it's in another climate.
Hire delivery fees - if you hire wedding items, many companies will charge a minimum $200 delivery, installation and collection fee on top of your actual item being hire. It can run to $1,000 if that item is being delivered from the nearest capital city to a rural or regional area. You can usually save this money however, if it is small enough for you or one of your bridal party to collect and return.
