Save $$$: Book Your Mid-Week 2018 Wedding At These Melbourne Venues

Did you know you could get married in 2018 in the Melbourne wedding venue of your dreams AND save thousands of dollars simply by cleverly booking your wedding reception between Monday to Thursday?

Here's some Melbourne wedding venues that offer substantial savings by getting married mid-week. 

The International of Brighton 
Melbourne's bayside The International of Brighton is currently operating until 30 June 3018 which is ideal if you want to marry in the next few months!

For its Georgian Room, the minimum guest spend for 2018 weddings is $5,000 for Monday-Thursday (with minimum 50 guests) vs $10,800 for Fridays and Sundays (minimum 80 guests) and $15,000 for Saturday evening weddings (minimum 100 guests).

You'll spend only $15,000 booking out its Ballroom for a mid-week 2018 wedding with 150 guests vs $27,000 with 200 guests for a Friday or Sunday wedding, or $30,000 to secure the Saturday.

Brighton Savoy
The nearby Brighton Savoy which is across the road from the iconic Brighton bathing boxes charges only from $105 per guest for Monday-Thursday weddings, but from $125 for Friday and Sunday weddings, and from $130 to get married there on a Saturday.

The Baths Middle Brighton
Right on the water is the The Baths Middle Brighton. Dining upstairs with a maximum of 120 guests for a sit-down dinner starts from $135 from April-September and from $145 from October-March.

There is a minimum spend of $16,000 for a Saturday evening wedding from October-March, $14,000 for a Friday and $12,000 for weddings Sunday-Thursday. But if you book your wedding date between April-September, the Friday and Saturday minimum spend drops to $12,000 while weddings Sunday-Thursday have a minimum spend of $8,000.

Sails On The Bay
Right on the beach at Elwood is Sails on the Bay with its floor to ceiling beachfront views of the bay. They charge the same rate no matter what day of the week you marry - but charge different rates depending on the season you want to book your wedding. Peak season is November through March which is from $135 per head. This drops to $115 in April-May and September-October, while winter weddings in June, July or August are just $100 per guest.

Sandringham Yacht Club
You and your guests can enjoy a marvellous view of the Melbourne skyline from Sandringham Yacht Club, sited right on the water. From now until 31 March 2019, you'll pay $130 per head for Monday-Thursday bookings. The price is $130 per head from 1 April-30 September 2018 for Friday, Saturday and Sunday weddings, and this rises to $145 each for Friday-Sunday bookings from 1 October 2018-31 March 2019.

Lincoln of Toorak
Right in the heart of elegant Toorak is an equally elegant venue which has had a recent facelift. Lincoln of Toorak includes guest-friendly round tables, centrepieces, linen, chairs with choice of sashes, crystal centrepieces and AV hire as part of your package.

Plus, there's two private bridal suites for your bridal party to relax with a glass of champagne, freshen up and change outfits. Prices range from a minimum 180 guests for Monday-Thursday weddings from $90-$120 and for Friday-Sunday weddings from $110-$140 each for at least 180 guests. 

Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club
Love, anyone? One of Melbourne's best-kept secrets is the Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club with its strikingly modern design for contemporary weddings. You can book your mid-week wedding here from just $125 per guest, which rises to $145 per person for weddings booked Friday through Sunday. And did you know the venue offers bridal accommodation on-site too?

Grand Metropol
For smaller weddings of 80-160 guests bedazzle them with the Moroccan styling of Grand Metropol in Clayton. Book a Saturday night with a minimum spend of $6,500, a Friday and Sunday for $5,500 or Monday-Thursday for $4,500.

Grand on Princes
Its sister property, The Grand on Princes in Mulgrave is perfect for larger weddings, comfortably seating 180-400 guests. It features a sweeping staircase and a ballroom lit with multiple crystal chandeliers. You'll spend a minimum of $14,000 for Saturday, $12,500 for Friday and Sunday and just $8,000 for Monday-Thursday.

Grand on Cathies
For truly huge weddings, choose Grand on Cathies in Wantirna South where up to 600 guests can dance the night away on the spectacular parquetry dancefloor and marvel at the state of the art LED light display. Its minimum Saturday night spend is $16,500 but this drops to $15,000 for Friday and Sunday and to just $10,000 for Monday-Thursday.

Red Scooter
Red Scooter in Balaclava is a warehouse-sized space with a slightly burlesque New York flavour. Not unlike walking into a giant nightclub! Pay from just $115 per guest Monday-Thursday, $125 per head for Fridays and Sundays and from $135 each for a Saturday wedding.

The Park
At the glamorous venue The Park, wedding packages start from $134 per person seven days a week, but you'll can book your wedding for 50-500 guests on a Friday or Sunday in June through August from $131.40 per person as part of their winter specials.

River’s Edge Events
Right on the Yarra River at North Wharf in Melbourne's CBD, at River's Edge from Monday through Sunday you'll pay a minimum of $130 per person throughout the year but you can book a Friday, Saturday or Sunday wedding during winter (June-August) from just $117 per guest.

Chateau Wyuna
Chateau Wyuna in Mt Evelyn in the Dandenong Ranges charges from $95 per person for Monday-Thursday dinnertime wedding packages throughout the year.

Compare this to $124 per person for Saturday night weddings ($114 for Fridays and $107 for Sunday) in March, October-November, $116 each for January-February, April, September and December ($106; $99 respectively), and $104 per person ($97; $95 respectively) for weddings in May-August.

The Gables
Pretty wedding venue The Gables in East Malvern charges $105 per person for Monday-Thursday weddings and Saturday lunchtime weddings, but the Friday and Sunday evening wedding rate is $125 while getting married on a Saturday night costs $140 per head.

Marybrooke Manor
Tudoresque Marybrooke Manor in Sherbrooke in the Dandenong Ranges charges a $10 surcharge per person for Saturday weddings with the Sherbrooke sit-down dining package costing $115 per head April-September ($125 on Saturday nights), and $130 October-March ($140 on Saturday nights).

It also has a special deal where you pay only $80 per person year-round if you have a smaller wedding from Monday-Wednesday OR you want to book and marry there within three months - which is great if you need to bring your wedding forward due to family or work commitments.

The Point
Stylish city venue The Point has floor to ceiling windows overlooking Albert Lake. Book a wedding for lunch or dinner from January-October from Tuesday-Thursday and there is a minimum spend of $2,500. During those same months, it rises to $10,000 for lunch and dinner for Mondays, but you can book lunch for $5,000 from Friday-Sundays in the first 10 months of the year.

Lunch or dinner weddings have a minimum spend of $5,000 for Tuesday-Thursday, and $12,000 for Mondays during November and December.

Friday and Sunday dinner weddings have a minimum spend of $8,800 from October through May, and $8,000 from June to September, while in the same months you'll need to pay at least $15,000 and $8,800 respectively for a dinner wedding on a Saturday.

The Langham
If you're seeking a venue to fit up to 250 guests, even a modest discount makes a big difference. For 2018, the gorgeous five-star Southbank hotel, The Langham charges $195 per person for a Saturday wedding, and $180 for a Friday or Sunday, while weddings on Mondays through Thursdays cost $170 per head.
